Get a taste and try it out

A job in the office or would you rather get out into the fresh air? Doing something with your hands, writing texts or working with numbers? If you are not yet sure what you would like to do for a living, we offer you various opportunities to familiarise yourself with the wide range of tasks we deal with every day at VBK | AVG | KVV. You can get to know us better by doing an internship, which we offer for various types of schools, or by visiting our workshop.

If you already know where you want to go on your professional journey, you can of course apply directly for an apprenticeship.

Workshop tour

Workshop tour

The West depot at Karlsruhe's Rhine harbour is our main workshop. Around 400 employees work there every day to ensure that our trains and buses are always technically up to date and clean, when they set off on their journeys every morning. At the West depot, we develop ideas, test new systems and technology and much more... The tour takes about an hour and a half, during which you can take an exciting look behind the scenes of our depot and get to know our apprenticeships and degree programmes. You can find further important information and a registration form on our 'Training site the job of a lifetime'.

Frequently asked questions

Excellent!!! We train for AVG and VBK, not for the market. Our goal is always to hire all of our trainees and dual students on a permanent basis. The prerequisites for this are good performance and good behaviour. After that, all doors are open to you.

Of course. Go to our internship page and fill out the application form. You will receive immediate confirmation of receipt and feedback on your application. Learn more!

Yes, you can shorten your training – under certain conditions. For example, if you have already worked in the field of training, have a higher school leaving certificate than required or have particularly good grades. Either way, discuss your request with your trainer at the beginning of your training. Together, you will then draw up a written application and submit it to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce or the guild, for example.

A good secondary school leaving certificate is a prerequisite for apprenticeships. But always remember, the better you are, the greater your chances of beating other applicants and ultimately landing the job of your dreams.

Cover letter, CV and current references. If you have completed internships, be sure to include them. A completed internship always goes down well.

Absolutely! There's no reason not to. If you're doing training in a similar field, you can often shorten your new training programme.

You can find information about the contact persons here.

We always start the application process one year before the start of training. Take a look at the traffic light system on our training page.

Green means that there are still apprenticeship places available. Red means that the training places are already filled. The earlier you apply, the greater your chance of getting the job of your dreams with us.
