My job is to maintain the rail vehicles of VBK and AVG. I make sure that all the railways and trains can run smoothly and safely. This includes regular maintenance work, repairs and checking the technical systems.

The daily challenge of getting the vehicles back on track.

I work in the vehicle and workshop department as the person responsible for regulations. My job is to ensure that all standards and regulations in the company are always up to date.

I like the mixture of desk work and working directly with colleagues on the vehicles. It is particularly exciting when new regulations are issued and I work with the team to develop solutions as to how we can implement these requirements.

I am responsible for the maintenance and fault clearance of our trams and light rail vehicles. I make sure that the trams and light rail vehicles run smoothly and safely through Karlsruhe and the surrounding regions. In this way, I contribute to the reliability and safety of local public transport.

 I appreciate the versatility in my work, especially working with and on our vehicles, which makes every day exciting. The variety of shifts means that no two days are the same and I am always faced with new challenges.

I work as a carpenter in the West depot. Our team checks and repairs the interior fittings and glazing of the various rail vehicles. We make sure that all materials and constructions meet the high safety and quality standards.

I work mainly as a roofer, but my team and I take care of problems and damage to and in the buildings of VBK, AVG and KVV. With the exception of electrics and gas/water, we take care of all issues that arise in and around the buildings. Our versatile skills enable us to handle a wide range of tasks efficiently.

Our work is characterised by varied tasks and locations that encourage contact with different departments, employees and external partners. This allows me to continuously utilise, expand and refine my technical skills.

As an electronics technician, I am responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining the infrastructure of Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft (AVG) in the Ettlingen, Albtal and Hardt regions. My tasks include the maintenance and repair of electrical systems and installations to ensure smooth operation.

The job is varied and requires a lot of travelling, with a wide range of activities in different areas. This entails a high level of responsibility, as the proper execution of tasks is crucial.

The profession guarantees both job security and job stability, which means long-term career security.

Every day I help to ensure that passengers can be transported safely from A to B through my maintenance and fault clearance work!

As a planning engineer for AVG and VBK, my main focus is on planning the barrier-free expansion of stops in the existing network. From conception to approval by the regional council. I am responsible for the entire process to ensure that the stops meet current standards and are accessible for all passengers.

I really appreciate the daily variety of tasks and contacts, the mixture of creativity and problems, the interaction with colleagues and the occasional surprises in my job.

I work as a project manager in project management and am mainly responsible for building construction projects. I act as the client's representative from service phases 5 (implementation planning), 6 (preparation for contract award), 7 (involved in the contract award process) and 8 (partially responsible for site supervision) and supervise the architects and the relevant specialist engineers. I am also responsible for costs, deadlines and quality control with regard to structural realisation.

My job is varied and allows me to liaise with a lot of people (tradespeople, specialist engineers, architects, etc.). In addition, every project presents a certain challenge and you are constantly learning something new.

I would particularly like to emphasise the excellent working atmosphere, which also includes exchanges with employees from other departments. The lively teamwork and collegial working atmosphere contribute significantly to satisfaction. In addition, individual and professional development is promoted through a wide range of training programmes that one can choose from oneself. I work as a supra-local dispatcher. My job involves making many decisions every day - for example in the event of delays, disruptions or staff shortages. I co-ordinate the trains which are running, where rail replacement services are necessary and how we can keep operations running as smoothly as possible for passengers and colleagues.

I can actively contribute to the company and ensure that everything runs smoothly for our passengers every day. The work is varied, requires quick decisions and good teamwork.

I ensure that trains run despite disruptions or bottlenecks, that passengers get to their destinations and that operations continue - often behind the scenes, but always as part of a team together with the control centre, transport services and everyone involved.

I process the incoming invoices in Accounts Payable which  are received by our company on a daily basis, and of course, my area of responsibility also includes other exciting accounting tasks that are part of my day-to-day business. I also look after the trainees who come to our department and familiarise themselves with our day-to-day business.

Above all, my job is varied, and one learns something new every day and one is  always faced with new challenges. My skills and interests match this job perfectly which they fulfil.  As I look after the trainees in Accounts Payable, it is of course even more fun as one can pass on one's own knowledge and expand the team's knowledge.

I work together with my colleagues in Accounts Payable to ensure that incoming invoices are paid promptly and other accounting tasks are fulfilled and completed. It works so perfectly because we uphold solidarity and support.

I have been working at VBK since 2018 as Head of Sales Technology, where I am responsible for the technical support and optimisation of the sales infrastructure. In this position, I coordinate a team and ensure that all technical sales processes run smoothly.

Communication between the different departments and various service providers ensures that all processes run smoothly, from buying tickets at the right price to booking sales in our SAP programme, so that everything fits seamlessly together.

There is a wide variety of activities here - in a traditional company that has reinvented itself time and again in recent years.

I make sure that customers of VBK, AVG and parts of KVV have access to their tickets at all times.
