The application area, for example, brings together all information relating to our numerous software solutions that are used in our company. That is around 400 individual applications whose licences have to be managed. Every cable and every plug has to be correct for 1,400 or so PC workstations, just as many business mobile phones and numerous printers, which is ensured by the specialists in the service management department.
The infrastructure department looks after countless kilometres of cables, WLAN networks and hundreds of servers. The aim of all activities is to achieve high performance, prevent outages and comprehensively secure our data, networks and systems against potential external threats.
How do passengers on a platform find out which train is arriving next, where there may be delays or on which line a diversion has been set up? The passenger information team brings together the areas of IT, transport planning and the control centre, is familiar with operations control systems, telematics and depot management and provides fast information wherever it is needed.
