We move the region

Are you there?

Are you looking for a career change or a new start? We might have the right job for you: The AVG and VBK transport service gives you the opportunity to get off to a flying start. And with full pay from the first day of training!

We train people with previously unrelated professional biographies to become bus drivers, train drivers or tram drivers. Our career changers come from a wide range of sectors such as catering, care, skilled trades or administration, either directly from their previous job or after a longer career break.

What you can expect is a well-founded qualification that can be completed between three (Tram driver) and twelve months (train driver). This will prepare you to join us permanently.

Qualification programme for refugees

In 2020, AVG took part in the project "Qualification of refugees as train drivers", in which a total of 45 refugees were trained as train drivers over a period of five months. This project was realised in cooperation with the Federal Employment Agency, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport, Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft, Abellio Rail Baden-Württemberg GmbH, Go-Ahead Baden-Württemberg, MEV Eisenbahn-Verkehrsgesellschaft mbH and railway companies in the south-west.

It was important for us, AVG, to take part in this project as we are aware of our social responsibility for the region and want to make our contribution to society.

Of the 45 participants, five train drivers were trained at AVG itself. After successfully passing their exams, all participants were taken on as drivers by their respective transport companies.
