Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft (AVG) and Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe (VBK) are breaking new ground, by setting up their own bus fleet for rail replacement services (SEV) and emergency bus services (BNV). They are facing up to the increasing challenges on the open market. This should not only ensure the availability of replacement services, but also noticeably improve the quality of service for our passengers.
"With our own bus fleet, we have more room to manoeuvre and can react more quickly to disruptions and roadworks," explains Christian Höglmeier, technical managing director of VBK and AVG. The new fleet will be directly connected to our ITCS operations control system, so that real-time timetable information and stop announcements are guaranteed.
