This means that drivers need to be particularly attentive and responsible. During a 5-week qualification programme, we will train you optimally to become an important part of our team. Theoretical training

the first three weeks

To start with, you will learn all the important theoretical basics of your work as a bus driver. This includes

  • The network and tariff customer
  • The special signalling and operating regulations
  • Track technology and track knowledge
  • Dealing with faults on the vehicle
  • the VBK route network
  • Which vehicle types are used in driving operations
  • Various legal requirements (e.g. StVO, StGB, StPO)
  • Driving on scheduled routes
  • Radio communication with the control centre
  • Dealing with accident recording and violence prevention
  • SEV line knowledge in the event of disruptions to railway operations

  • After the 3-week training period, you will have a 2-week training driving period during which an experienced bus driver will look over your shoulder and give you tips and advice.
  • After 36 days, there is a practical test in the operational process and the end of the training programme.
  • Once you have successfully completed your training, we offer you further training programmes tailored to your needs.

Bus driver in rail replacement transport with VBK:

Are you looking for a new challenge and want to make an important contribution to keeping customers mobile? Then become part of our team as a bus driver for rail replacement services. As a bus driver in rail replacement transport, you will play a central role in ensuring public transport services and making sure that all customers reach their destination safely, even during rail replacement measures. We welcome applications from drivers who have already completed their training as well as newcomers. As part of the qualification to become a bus driver for rail replacement services, you will acquire a category D driving licence and basic operational training over a period of four months. Do you already have a category D driving licence? No problem! We are also happy to train you only in our company qualification programme, so you can make your contribution to maintaining mobility after just six weeks.

Prerequisites

What you should bring with you

Do you already have an apprenticeship? Then apply with

  • Your category D / DE driving licence incl. driver qualification certificate according to BKrFQG
  • Professional experience of 1 to 3 years in the BUS sector
  • Good knowledge of German (level B1 for bus drivers; B2 for SEV bus drivers)

All applicants must also submit an extract from the driving aptitude register (FAER) at the Federal Motor Transport Authority in Flensburg and a police clearance certificate.
